Trappist 1G is an impressive and complex cigar with an elegant shape, finished with a beautiful Habano 2000 Oscuro wrapper This medium to full bodied cigar delivers rich woody, earthy aromas and hearty notes of pepper.
The cigar uses an Ecuadorian habano 2000 oscuro wrapper, a Dominican binder, and a Pennsylvania broadleaf filler. The cigar comes in a sizable 7 1/4 x 54 figurado vitola, It is made at Terranova Cigar Factory SRL in the Santiago, Dominican Republic, a fairly new facility that was built specifically to support the Nova brand, according to Leonor Abzaradel, ceo of Platinum Nova Cigar. She added that it is owned and operated by the family office that owns the Platinum Nova Cigar brand.
As for the name, it comes from the Trappist-1 System, located a little more than 40 light-years away from Earth. In that system is an exoplanet named Trappist-1g, which is slightly larger than Earth, and which is the close in color to Platinum Nova’s branding. “It was introduced to us by Dr. Scott Bolton, a top NASA physicist and the founder of Juno and also a good friend of the chairman of the company, Dr. Amer Rustom,” said Abzaradel. “With that known we were inspired to come out with a very complex cigar, in an elegant shape covered in a beautiful habano 2000 oscuro wrapper.”
That planet is featured on the secondary band that the cigar wears, while a graphic of the Trappist-1 System appears on the inside of the box’s lid.
