Taking its name from the Spanish word for "the opulent," My Father La Opulencia cigars are indeed a case of truth in advertising. The Garcia family has revived this old Cuban trademark, La Opulencia, which is being described as the point where the profile of Le Bijou 1922 crosses paths with the original My Father cigar. The recipe: Nicaraguan Cuban-seed long fillers, two Nicaraguan binders (Corojo and Criollo) and a chocolatey-brown Mexican Rosado Oscuro wrapper that's new to Pepin's bag of tricks; the tobaccos are all cultivated on the Garcia family farms. The experience: expect the requisite My Father pepper, balanced this time by nuanced hints of earth, cocoa and wood - all in a rich-smoking, box-pressed format.
